With TAG Heuer being synonymous with motorsport and its fitting return as the official timekeeper of Formula 1, it is only fitting for me to race through the exciting novelties TAG Heuer is presenting here at Watches and Wonders 2025. Unsurprisingly, TAG Heuer’s rekindled partnership with F1 defines many of the watches they’re unveiling in Geneva – we might even see some F1 figures make an appearance at the fair alongside these watches…TAG Heuer Carrera Day-DateWe'll get into the new Formula 1 soon, but I really don't want the new Carrera range to get left in the dust by the official return of the Formula 1 range. Why? Well, the Carrera three-hander lineup has become a little less competitive in a modern marketplace with longer power reserves and more exclusive calibres. Previously, watches like the Carrera Day-Date – which is a nice watch, don't get me wrong – used the Sellita SW200-based Calibre 5 automatic with 38 hours of power reserve. Now, a new range of Carrera Day-Dates makes its debut, with a new movement to boot. Co-developed with Sellita AMT, the TH31-02 is another variant of the TH31 we’ve seen in the Aquaracer, with its 80-hour power reserve and elevated decoration being a worthwhile upgrade.Five configurations usher in this new Carrera Day-Date era, all with steel cases that measure 41mm in diameter, 12.57mm thick, and 47.5mm lug-to-lug contemporary, but also very wearable for most. Of all the new models, the smoky red dial is my favourite, with other opaline and sunburst variations also available. Strap-wise, the black-grained dial model is paired with a leather strap, one of the two black opaline dial models is paired with a two-tone steel and 18k 5N gold bracelet, and the remainder are full steel bracelets.BrandTAG HeuerModelCarrera Day-DateReferenceWDA2110.FC6614WDA2111.BA0043WDA2111.BD0001WDA2112.BA0043WDA2113.BA0043Case Dimensions41mm (D) x 12.57m (T) x 47.5mm (LTL)Case materialStainless steelWater Resistance100 metresCrystal(s)Sapphire front and backDialBlack grained, black opaline, blue sunray, smoky redBracelet and strapBlack calfskin, steel folding claspSteel three-link bracelet, folding claspSteel and 18k 5N gold bracelet, folding claspMovementTH31-02, Sellita AMT co-developed, automaticPower Reserve80 hoursFunctionsHours, minutes, seconds, date, dayAvailabilityNowPriceCHF 3,900 (WDA2110.FC6614)CHF 4,100 (WDA2112.BA0043, WDA2113.BA0043)CHF 4,300 (WDA2111.BA0043)CHF 8,250 (WDA2111.BD0001)TAG Heuer Carrera Twin-TimeWould you prefer a GMT in place of a Day-Date complication? Debuting alongside the new Day-Date models is the new Carrera Twin-Time that, alongside sporting a new teal dial also gets a calibre upgrade. Jumping up from the 50-hour Calibre 7 GMT, the Carrera Twin-Time uses the TH31-03, also from Sellita AMT with an 80-hour power reserve. All of these Carreras are priced under CHF 5,000 with the exception of the Day-Date on a two-tone bracelet, which will run you CHF 8,250. It’s quite a leap, but certainly the models on a strap or full steel bracelet present very strong GADA pieces for the under CHF 5,000 price segment.BrandTAG HeuerModelCarrera Date Twin-TimeReferenceWDA2114.BA0043Case Dimensions41mm (D) x 12.57mm (T) x 47.5mm (LTL)Case MaterialStainless steelWater Resistance100 metresCrystal(s)Sapphire crystal front and backDialTeal, sunray brushedStrapSteel three-link bracelet, double folding claspMovementTH31-03, Sellita AMT co-developed,? automaticPower Reserve80 hoursFunctionsHours, minutes, seconds, date, GMTAvailabilityApril 2025PriceCHF 4,750TAG Heuer Formula 1 SolargraphOkay, now we get to what I suspect many will consider the main event – the new Formula 1 Solargraph. This marks the official return of the Formula 1 to the TAG Heuer catalogue in the wake of the fleeting Kith collaboration that sold out almost instantly, with nine configurations only three of which are limited editions. However, these new nine watches are not 35mm in diameter and standard quartz like the 1986 originals and the Kith collab. The Formula 1 Solargraph, as its name suggests, merges the F1 design with TAG Heuer's solar-powered movement. This is a great upgrade, as the TH50-00 can run for 10 months on a full charge without exposure to light, and will charge whether it is exposed to natural or artificial light. With the introduction of the Solargraph movement, the Formula 1 cases now measure 38mm in diameter and can be had in steel or bio-polyamide (read: renewably sourced plastic). Interestingly, though larger, the water-resistance has dropped from 200 metres to 100 metres, but I doubt anyone will complain about that. Of the Formula 1 models, those sold on a rubber strap will be priced at CHF 1,750, and the steel models on a matching bracelet will be priced at CHF 1,850. The release of these nine configurations will happen throughout the year, the launches tied to the various 2025 Grand Prix check out the description below for all the dates.BrandTAG HeuerModelFormula 1 SolargraphReferenceWBY1111.BA0042WBY1112.BA0042WBY1113.BA0042WBY1114.FT8084WBY1117.FT8087WBY111A.FT8106WBY1160.FT8085WBY1161.FT8086WBY1162.FT8105Case Dimensions38mm (D) x 9.9mm (T) x 45.2mm (LTL)Case materialStainless steel Black DLC steel Bio-polyamideWater Resistance100 metresCrystal(s)Sapphire frontDialWhite, blue or black opalineBracelet and strapColoured rubber strap, steel pin buckle Steel three-link bracelet, folding claspMovementTH50-00, solar quartzPower Reserve10 monthsFunctionsHours, minutes, seconds, dateAvailabilityWBY1111.BA0042, WBY1114.FT8084 – Miami (02/05/25), pre-sale: 29/04/25 14:00 CETWBY111A.FT8106 – Barcelona (30/05/25), pre-sale 27/05/25 08:00 CETWBY1112.BA0042, WBY1113.BA0042 – Silverstone (04/07/25), pre-sale 01/07/25 09:00 CETWBY1160.FT8085, WBY1161.FT8086 – Monza (05/09/25), pre-sale 02/09/25 08:00 CETWBY1162.FT8105 – Singapore (03/10/25), pre-sale 30/09/25? 01:00 CETWBY1117.FT8087 – Mexico (24/10/25), pre-sale 21/10/25 15:00 CETPriceCHF 1,750 (rubber)CHF 1,850 (bracelet)TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph F1For our final lap, TAG Heuer is debuting a grail-level Monaco with the new Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph F1. This watch, priced at CHF 155,000, is a ten-piece limited edition that debuts TAG Heuer's most complicated watch (currently available) in a white ceramic case. It features a vibrant red-tinted translucent dial with white ceramic sandblasted bridges, and on its counters, you will spot a nod to Crofty’s classic race-opening cry, lights out and away we go spelled out across the registers. As a reminder, the Monaco Split-Seconds is powered by the TH81-00 high-beat automatic split-seconds chronograph movement with 65 hours of power reserve. Its bridges are made of titanium, which, merged with a ceramic case, makes the watch very light on the wrist. Unfortunately, it’s a bit heavy on the wallet.BrandTAG HeuerModelTAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph F1ReferenceCBW2190.FC8356Case Dimensions41mm (D) x 15.2mm (T) x 47.9mm (LTL)Case MaterialWhite ceramicWater Resistance30 metresCrystal(s)Sapphire crystal front and backDialRed-tinted translucent dial, white ceramic sandblasted bridgesStrapWhite calfskin strap, titanium folding claspMovementCalibre TH81-00, high-beat automaticPower Reserve65 hours (chrono off), 55 hours (chrono on)FunctionsHours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, split-seconds functionAvailabilityQ4 2025PriceCHF 155,000New TAG Heuer beads-of-rice braceletActually… Before we sign off, I want to quickly shout out that TAG Heuer has unveiled a new beads-of-rice bracelet. This elegantly mixed-finished number has been designed for the Carrera Chronograph, and according to TAG Heuer, it will be available on four of its Glassbox models. It will be introduced on the black and signature blue TAG Heuer Carrera Chronographs from 2023, as well as the recently launched Panda and teal green Dato.
