Swatch and Omega have followed up February’s MoonSwatch 1965 with a neon pink moonphase MoonSwatch.Celebrating the annual appearance of the Pink Moon, it is functionally identical to the Super Blue Moonphase from 2024, except boasts love heart details on its chrono pushers.Like previous limited MoonSwatches, it will only be available at select locations, currently TBC.Normally, when we see that a watch has a release date of April 1st, we dismiss it as an April Fool’s Day joke. That’s what I thought when Swatch teased what appeared to be yet another MoonSwatch earlier this week on Instagram – that they might be pulling our legs. But nope, the Mission to the Pink Moonphase is legit – but I’m surprised that it’s being released on April Fool’s as its design is much more evocative of Valentine’s Day. Pink moons aren’t actually pink, by the way, unless there’s light pollution or haze (unlike harvest moons, which can have an orange colour due to greater Rayleigh scattering as the Moon appears close above the horizon). However, that hasn’t stopped Swatch from really leaning into the theme, imagining the MoonSwatch in a lairy pink colour scheme.Anyway: the Swatch x Omega Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase, to call it by its full name, was actually teased by Swatch Group CEO Nick Hayek Jr. during a recent press conference – the head honcho taking a leaf out of Daniel Craig and Omega or David Beckham and Tudor’s book. It’s patterned after the Super Blue Moonphase from 2024, swapping out that model’s blue case and highlights in favour of a pink Bioceramic case, pink opaline dial, a pink moonphase display and pink-tipped hands. You get the picture.Like the Super Blue Moonphase but unlike the original OmegaSpeedmaster, the Mission to the Pink Moonphase features a pulsometer bezel rather than a tachymeter. However, unlike any other MoonSwatch or Speedmaster, the Mission to the Pink Moonphase has a little graphic embossed on its 2 o’clock pusher: a little heart, which is a nice nod to the pulsometer scale as well as entirely thematic with this watch’s neon pink look.Swatch x Omega Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase pricing & availabilityThe MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase will be available from April 1st 2025 at selected Swatch locations, which are currently TBC but are presumably the same locations where previous limited MoonSwatches have been sold, such as the Mission to Moonshine Gold models. We should all know the drill by now. Swatch has confirmed that these sales locations will be revealed progressively via the brand’s social media channels, so stay tuned.
