In a brave post today on the official Movember team page, Hamish bid adieu to his “sweet majestic beard” soon(ish) to be replaced by some kind of moustache. We are proud that Movember started in Melbourne and we’re all behind Hamish and James, whose upper lips were today shaved back to smooth ground zero in preparation for this month’s mo onslaught.But before Hamish joined James’ team, he had some questions. “Due diligence,” says Hamish, “nothing personal.” I mean, what kind of leadership style will Magnussen have? Will there be 4am starts at the pool? Are afternoon naps permitted? Will Hamish’s five-coffee daily regime be ok-ed by the boss?Maurice Lacroix arranged the meeting, where Hamish was able to ask all the tough questionsHamish: James, I’m in your team, you’re the captain, so what sort of leadership style should I expect? Harsh but fair???What if I don’t perform, what will be your course of action?James: It is great to have you in the team Hamish! As an athlete we rely a lot on self-accountability and discipline. My leadership style will not be too harsh on the team. I hope to just lead by example and leave it to each team member to be accountable for their own performance!Magnussen plans to “lead [the team] by example and leave each member accountable for their own performance.”H: Any tips on how to grow a strong mo?J:?Plenty of sleep, good food, some good sunlight and water and watch it grow strong!H: I’ve done Movember before and tried to get some handlebars happening. What kind of mo style are you going for this year? Who’s the most stylish man with a mo in your mind? ?J:?I have not yet made the final decision on the type of Mo I am going to grow for the month. I am going to start out strong, assess the growth and then think about the most stylish direction to head in. I admit to thinking that perhaps something like singer Sam Sparro carries may be the best direction.Australian star Sam Sparro, Magnussen’s?mo mentor and style iconH: I’ve seen lots of pictures of you wearing the Pontos S, you’re obviously a fan, but tell me when do you wear it? Suits? Swimming??J:?I really enjoy wearing the Pontos S. I don't wear a watch when actually swimming however for most other times I wear my Pontos S. Certainly casual or smart casual environments as well as media commitments, business meetings and other such times. For my formal suiting environments or events I am lucky enough to have a fantastic piece from the Masterpiece collection, the Roue Carree that I wear. I really love dressing this watch up in this way.The Maurice Lacroix Roue Carree – you have to see this thing in actionH: What do you like about it? What’s one thing you’d change?J: I find the Pontos S really easy to style and match with a wide range of clothing, events and environments. It is really versatile in this way. I also feel it is a really masculine piece which I like. Nothing I would change but I do really find myself interchanging the style of bands and straps for the watch.
