The Oscars are a time when Hollywood's best and brightest don their finery and strut their stuff. And watches are becoming increasingly important (and visible) accessories. For those of you who missed the red carpet action, we've been busy watch spotting, and have picked out the best-dressed wrists of the 2016 Oscars.THE SUBTLE CHARMERACTOR: Eddie RedmayneFILM: The Danish GirlWATCH: Omega GlobemasterEddie Redmayne's boyish good looks weren't enough to get him an Oscar this year, however his watch was a definite winner. Ed's sported a white dial Omega Globemaster, a watch we frequently spot him wearing. The fluted bezel and pie-pan dial are both elegant, making it very much at home with black tie.THE UNDERDOGACTOR: Michael B JordanFILM: CreedWATCH: Piaget Altiplano ChronographWe spotted Michael B Jordan rocking the ultra-thin Piaget Altiplano Chronograph. It’s a quietly confident choice for the up-and-coming superstar.THE CLASS ACTWHO: Dev PatelFILM: No nomination this year, but he rocked in ChappieWATCH: IWC Portugieser Automatic 7-DayAlthough he wasn't nominated for an Oscar this year, we've nominated Dev Patel's IWC Portugieser Automatic 7-Day for best watch in a supporting role, as the white dial and blue strap are the perfect match for his tux.THE JOKERACTOR: Jared LetoFILM: Nothing this year, but Suicide Squad is going to clean up in 2017.Watch: Bulgari OctoJared Leto was spotted wearing a Bulgari Octo, though it must be said that even a diamond bezel didn't help him steal the stage from Margot Robbie. It's not the first time we've seen Jared wearing an Octo Finissimo, an edgy watch with multiple angles, just like Leto's upcoming turn as DC's iconic villain.THE CONNOISSEURWHO: Ryan SeacrestWATCH: Rolex Daytona ref. 6263We're not sure whether Ryan Seacrest has been taking watch tips off Ellen, but either way the classic 6263 Daytona ensures he's red-carpet royalty. It also looks like Seacrest shortened his left cuff, to better show off his vintage beauty. Thank-you for making our job easier Ryan.THE BAD BOYWHO: Tom HardyFILM: RevenantWATCH: Bulgari Bulgari chronographTom Hardy has made his name playing brutal brawlers, so his choice of a pink?gold Bulgari Bulgari chronograph is somewhat out of character. Having said that there's no denying the bold choice looks at home with his three-piece.THE HOSTWHO: Chris RockWATCH: Exactly.Chris Rock was given the honour of hosting this years Oscars, however it appears he's commited the cardinal sin, and gone in watch-less. Perhaps he's making up for Neal Patrick Harris' 2015 watch double down. Harris managed to wear a Piaget and an Audemars Piguet during his stint as host.THE CLASSICACTOR: Michael FassbenderFILM: Steve JobsWATCH: Chopard L.U.C. XPSFassbender's choice of the Chopard L.U.C. XPS is a perfect black-tie choice. The simple watch with its ivory dial and dauphine hands are guaranteed to bring a touch of elegance to the proceedings. Certainly a better choice than Steve Job's Seiko.IN THE SPOTLIGHTACTOR: Mark RuffaloFILM: SpotlightWATCH: Montblanc Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar SapphireWhile he didn't pick up the gong for Spotlight, Ruffalo is still a real winner, wearing Montblanc's Perpetual Calendar Sapphire a watch we happened to talk about yesterday. THE REAL WINNERACTOR: Leonardo DicaprioFILM: RevenantBRACELET: RedLeo finally won an Oscar. It's massive, the Internet is broken and the world is rejoicing. Interestingly Leo doesn't appear to have worn a watch on the night, possibly deciding to leave his TAG Heuer at home so as not to lose it at the after party.
